Pine Crest Is The School Of Innovation
Opened in 1955 in Sanford, Florida, Pine Crest Elementary currently serves approximately 700 students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. In 2018, we were renamed Pine Crest Elementary Magnet School of Innovation and now serve students across the district as a magnet school focusing on computer science and innovation. All students in grades K-5 receive instruction in computer science as well as the design thinking process and engage in self-directed problem-based learning projects. These projects allow them to engage with the community and work to solve student-identified problems at our school, in the local community, or on a state or national scale. We are also excited about the construction of our new Innovative Learning Center that will open for the 2020-2021 school year. This state-of-the-art facility will allow our students an even greater opportunity to use the latest in educational technology and expand their abilities to be the future problem solvers of our community.
We are passionate about providing a place for children to learn, grow, and discover their passions so they can be the problem solvers of our future communities. We believe in the power of students, teachers, families, and communities working together to create positive and uplifting experiences that inspire students' dreams, empower them to create, and connect them with the world around them. Families interested in joining our Pine Crest Elementary Magnet School of Innovation Community can visit our Prospective Families page to learn more about the programs we offer, how to apply, and how to visit our school to learn more about the Pine Crest Experience. We cannot wait to meet your family. Welcome to Pine Crest.
