Become A Dividends Volunteer

DividendsWe love our Volunteers! To volunteer at any SCPS school, you must be a registered Dividends Volunteer.  Even if you have registered in the past, you must update your information each school year. Visit the Dividends Volunteer Program website for more information.”

Our volunteers enrich our school community by giving of their time and talents in the classrooms and on field trips. The first step to beciming a volunteer in our school is to visit the SCPS Community Involvement webpage and fill out the registration form to be a Dividend (click here).

Once you have registered in the system, contact Anne West at anne_west@scps.k12.fl.us to schedule an orientation to our campus.

Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)

Our Parent Teacher Association, or  PTA meets regularly and sponsors many activities throughout the school year including our APTT meetings, Student of the Month festivities, PBS incentives, Open House, Family Fun Nights, Celebrations, Book Fairs and much more.

Our PTA, is instrumental in planning and facilitating special events for our PCES Community.  Membership is just $10.00 to join!

School Advisory Council (SAC)

Each year, parents are elected to our School Advisory Council (SAC).  The purpose of the Council is to serve in an advisory capacity to the Principal and to assist in the development of the educational program, and in the preparation and evaluation of the school improvement plan.

Reading Acceleration Program (RAP)

Reading Acceleration Program Volunteers assist first grade students who are reading below grade level. Volunteers tutor one student at a time for 30 minutes once a week. The students will be tested and appropriate materials will be provided prior to the beginning of the initial tutoring. RAP volunteers are required to attend an additional training at the county office.

We also have volunteers who

  • Work with students as mentors
  • Help stock and organize our food and uniform pantry
  • Work shelving books in our media center
  • Assist teachers as classroom volunteers
